Eli Lilly and Company is suing Mochi Health Corp. in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, filed in April 2025. Lilly alleges deceptive marketing of “knockoff” compounded tirzepatide as safe and effective for cosmetic weight loss, improper corporate practice of medicine, and false claims that a mass-produced compound is “personalised”.

Largely intact. On 23 April 2026 Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley let the Lanham Act and Unfair Competition Law claims proceed, dismissing only the civil conspiracy count with leave to amend. She wrote that “Lilly alleges Mochi Health diverts potential customers — and concomitant sales — from Lilly’s FDA-approved medications through its corporate practice of medicine as well as a series of misleading advertisements.” The case.

Novo Nordisk A/S is suing Mochi Health Corp. in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, filed in August 2025. Filed as part of Novo’s wave of suits against compounded semaglutide sellers, alleging violations of state corporate-practice-of-medicine rules and false “personalisation” claims.

This is not enforcement. The plaintiff is a competitor that sells the branded product, it stands to gain commercially from winning, and none of its allegations has been proved. It is on this page for a narrower reason: an injunction stops supply, and someone part-way through a course would be the one left without it.

Mochi states clearly that “compounded medications are not approved or evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality,” that “medications and diagnostic services not included in membership subscription,” and that you can “cancel anytime.” But it lists “Does Mochi accept insurance?” in its FAQ without answering it on the page, and says nothing about lab requirements.
